The Business Of Freelancing Series Is Starting On Monday…

For many of us freelancers, while we love what we do, freelancing in the context of running a business can seem a bit intimidating. All the stuff about taxes, accounting and superannuation can leave you a bit non-plussed if like me, you’re more creative and technical.

Happily Shane Pearlman, from the new blog ShaneandPeter.com is here to help. Over the next few weeks he will shed light on all these nasty issues that can stop us from truly living the freelance dream. Next week, Shane will share a series of tips with us – bite size morsels of wisdom if you will, to help us with the business of freelancing. There will be a new one each day starting Monday, so make sure you tune in if you want to know how to be a freelance business dynamo!

To get an idea of what you’re in for, check out Shane’s new article, The Freelancer’s Guide to Sales: You’ve Got The Cookie.

There definitely is a gap in the market when it comes to business acumen. Oddly enough I had that same insight and just started a series on The Business of Entrepreneurship, with incorporation as the first topic.

You also probably couldn’t have picked a better co-author for the series! Looking forward to stealing more insight from Shane. ;)

The article on the business of entrepreneurship was great. Thanks for sharing.

Bridging the gap between people and technology is our business goal. Bridging the gab between the technician and the entrepreneur is our mission. I honestly believe there is a tide coming in which independent contractors will gain significant power and momentum. Thats depends on a core set of people understanding the fact that they are in business and behaving like it.
