Breathtaking Typographic Posters:

“You can’t design without type. However, yon can use only type (or mostly only type) to create breath-taking designs. In fact, many graphic designers and artists take exactly this route to communicate their ideas through their works. The results are sometimes crazy, sometimes artsy, sometimes beautiful, but often just different from things we’re used to. Thus designers explore new horizons and we explore new viewing perspectives which is what inspiration is all about.”

8 Tips and Resources for Managing Your Business Finances:

“One area many business owners struggle with is keeping track of their finances, but it is one of the most important areas given that cash flow is the lifeblood of the business. Small mistakes and a lack of knowledge and resources can be costly and problematic.”

You Aren’t Crazy, You’re Just an Entrepreneur:

“You aren’t crazy—there are good reasons why starting a business feels hard. Like any big change in life like getting married or having a baby, entrepreneurship has its ups and downs.”

Build a Newspaper Theme With WP-Query and the 960 CSS Framework:

“WP_Query is a powerful tool to control what comes out of your loop. Today I’m going to teach you all how to use it to make a 3 columned newspaper theme that has all your main blog posts in the main column, and off to the side a set of posts with a certain category. We’ll be using the 960 CSS framework for the basic layout and reset of our theme, it will chop a lot of work off what’s needed!”

5 Grammar Mistakes That Make You Sound Like a Chimp:

“Writing can be really no-win. It’s not fair, but it’s true. If you obsess over every grammatical and structural point, you can come across as stiff. But if you’re lax and make a bunch of simple errors, you’ll come across as stupid.”

13 Best Sites to Get Your Questions Answered:

A Complete Guide to Finding and Using Incredible Flickr Images:

“I don’t think this blog would be half of what it is without Flickr. The images included with most posts magnetize the eye to the page and create an atmosphere for the rest of the piece. It’s also one of the most commented-on aspects of the blog — the images are something I think leaves an impression on a lot of people. A question I get often is: how do you find such great images through Flickr? Most importantly, how do you find such great images that you can use freely?”

How Simplicity Can Help Creativity, Briefly:

“Creativity is often made out to be a nebulous, messy, complicated, difficult thing, and it can be. But it doesn’t have to be. The judicious application of simplicity can help someone to create, whether that’s writing, creating art, designing, teaching, starting a small business, or in some other way making ideas take shape into reality.”

How to Use the FAT-P System to Streamline Your Workflow:

“Often, when faced with a looming project, we forget the simple things. The size and depth of the project overwhelms leading to creative block. Once blocked, the frustration builds leading to even more block, procrastination, missed deadlines and a wealth of other problems. If you’re in any creative field, chances are, you’ve been there. As a former high school writing teacher, I found that just the prospect of writing was enough to leave students floundering. This became an even bigger problem when students were faced with the timed writing of state required tests. Enter the FAT-P.”

I like to see the idea that creativity does not have to be a messy thing. I used to believe that being messy was a sign of artistic genius, but I found that it’s really detrimental to getting things done.

Actually, I just wrote a couple of articles examining this in detail. If anyone is interested the subject, here they are: http://cleverlikeafox.com/blog/2009/09/creativity-and-messiness/ and http://cleverlikeafox.com/blog/2009/09/creativity-and-messiness-part-ii/
