Ooooh, this show was especially a good one for me. You know how sometimes there are those things that affect people differently? This may have been a normal show, but I really found a lot of answers to my questions right away!
This podcast were awesome! Great job guys!
Would really like to see more of these “Recommendation Round-Ups” in the future
Thanks for listening! It was a fun episode to record.
Awesome, hope we will get more soon.
But, um, what about business-related podcasts. I mean, isn’t that sort of what we’re here for?
Check out this one, these people ROCK.
From the BusinessMakers radio show, the Overtime Podcast. Next episode June 2, check ‘em out.

I love fun episodes like this.
And yes, this is a business show but if you listen to all the other episodes they are about business. We don’t like to lump ourselves into one category, so this was simply a different format–and more about the fun!! Every freelancer has to have that balance of both!
I’m listening this episode as I write.
Mozy was just brought up and I’m giving you guys a counter offer, which in my opinion is much superior.
It’s name and site: https://spideroak.com/
Never used Mozy for its limits and Spideroak also has payed accounts, but the free version has all features except for the space availabla for backup.
Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
Looked at mozy, but since I am a linux-user I cannot use it as they don’t have a linux version. So I checked around.
I am currently considering CrashPlan. Does anyone have any experiences with this software?
Check out this review – CrashPlan beat SpiderOak:

Dickie,
From listening to the latest podcast, it sounds like that was recorded in January. Is there a 5 month delay in getting recorded podcasts published?
I think you need to brainstorm for some interesting topics. It feels like you’ve run out of things to talk about. Freelancing is more than just “negotiating contacts” and “dealing with difficult clients”. There’s much more to this world!
Scott
I could suggest:
How to pitch for work
Write synopsis to get newspaper/magazine articles on print
Hook up with a good photographer/writer to give magazines a great package
I second the recommendation for MediaBistro.com but I really recommend the paid AvantGuild membership. This will give you discount on any courses and also access to the job board (useful in big markets like NYC, not so much in small ones). The main reason for freelancers is for the exclusive content – particularly the ‘how to pitch’ articles and the ‘pitches that worked’ examples. The former are by publication and give you a blow-by-blow of what the editors want and want they don’t want and how much they pay etc. The latter are real examples.
Is the podcast dead? This was one of just a few that I always anticipated and lately it seems to have drifted off into a coma. I know it’s summer an\d all but how about a message letting us know what is going on.
Agreed! I miss the podcast
Hello! I found your podcast only this week (sorry) and I start to listen from the episode 1. I’m freelancing for 10 years now, on web and graphic design, and I feel that I need to update my way of construct a website. Could you recommend me some cool tutorials online on dreamweaver, for beginners level? Thanks
Bravo to John Brougher, the unsung hero of this podcast. I listen to quite a few “round-up” types of podcasts like this one, and none are held together by a host as adept as John. He’s the voice of this show, but he still sinks into the background as far as attention goes.
Great job John and everyone else involved in the podcast – you’ll be missed.
Tears…
Nice show guys, keep up the good work.Killer site design too, by the way
