The very lucky thirteenth episode of Freelance Radio, the official FreelanceSwitch podcast, is now available! I apologize for the delay, folks! This episode, we discuss a number of freelancing issues, including dealing with feedback, how to deal with great (unrelated) ideas, getting past general malaise and more!

The Shownotes:
- Theme of the Episode: This episode’s topic is feedback, and we all talk about how we deal with feedback and strategies for coping better with it and learning from it.
- Fantastic Forum Post and Mailbag: We talk about how to (and if one should) tell a client random ideas (asked by Amber of Mintyfreshdesign.com), and how to get past creative block or just general burnout. We mention Creative Paw, a place to find work that will benefit animals and wildlife conservation, and John (that’s me) feels he should mention in the show notes Ashoka, which pairs skilled volunteers with nonprofit initiatives that need them.
- Freelance Radio Recommends…: Each panelist recommends a freelancing tool. John goes with invaluable financial tool Mint.com, Dickie recommends the Lightroom 2 beta for photographers and would-be photo junkies and Kristen proposes Twitter, an amazing microblogging/social networking site.
- Twitter? Yes!: A lot of the folks involved with Freelance Radio Tweet regularly…follow them!
- John Brougher: johnbrougher
- Kristen Fischer: acousticgroupie
- Dickie Adams: dickieadams
- Collis Ta’eed: collis
- Outro: None this episode, check back next time!
And that’s the thirteenth episode! Was it just me or did we not get the freelance outro? John built it up but a last minute No-Show. Hmmm.

Kristen, I’m from Cherry Hill, NJ – we have two Wegman’s within 15 minutes from us. They’re awesome! Don’t be too jealous, non-Jerseyites.
Hey Aloke, we used to, but since eden/flashden/freelanceswitch really got going we’ve taken it down
Collis has his little page, though he’s always saying he’s going to make something more impressive.
Great podcast guys!!
Hey guys! I have Twitter too! Here’s a recommendation to make Twitter much more fun to use – Twhirl. It’s runs right off your desktop and autorefreshes to get the latest updates from everyone we follow.
Thanks for episode 13 too. I finished listening to this episode. You guys are awesome!
Another great podcast guys. Kristen sounds hot again, even though she isn’t sick.
Hey guys: Love the podcasts. I’m new to the scene, having been studying web design and honing my skills. I really enjoy the discussions and great information. I started a few weeks ago at show #1 and have been listening to Freelance Radio only since then. Listening to these podcasts has only reinforced my deepest fear that I know nothing about design. However, I’m working full-time in an unrelated field and studying web-design applications non-stop. Listening to these shows are an inspiration to me and keeps me moving ahead a step at a time.
It all started because I needed to update my bands website. (I still need to get to that) and may get the nerve to submit a track.
Keep on making these podcasts and ease up on Dickie.
