Freelance Podcasts
As you all know, the Freelance Radio podcast has come to an end. If you didn’t get to listen to them all, you can find the archive on iTunes here.
To fill the void left by the team, I’ve found a few options that can’t replace Freelance Radio, but they will probably give you some decent tips and tricks to help you become the best freelancer you can be.
The Freelance Life – Good information on a variety of topics primarily focused on writing/editing. Hosted by Janice Campbell.
Freelance Advisor – Hosted by Darren Fell and Andy White. Quite good, updated frequently, and seems to be good for all freelancers. Content covers debt collection, personal branding, drumming up business, and much more.
Freelance America – Even though the most recent podcast is from Sept 2009, I found these folks worth listening to, if only for the inappropriate humor. Some good interviews, and if you’re a bit twisted you might enjoy them. Not sure why they stopped so suddenly.
Freelance Fortune – Not really a podcast, but Seth Kahan interviews some interesting folks on this site. Andrew Sobel, Guido Quelle, and Allan Weiss. Not a huge fan of the interview style – sounds like they are using tin can phones, but the info is pretty good. Focus is on consulting services
You Look Nice Today – Nothing at all to do with freelancing, but four of the funnies guys you will ever listen to. Listen fast – because they are quick!
Hope you enjoy – let me know if you’ve got a good freelance podcast!

I’m always on the hunt for a good podcast. I’ll give some of these a shot.
Dang that’s too bad.
Well just wanted to say thanks, the podcast really helped me through some rough times back in the day when I starting out on my own. It made me feel good knowing that there were people out there going through the same issues as I was and that I was not alone.
Thanks again!

I am already missing Freelance Radio! Thanks for the list.
I can recommend jQuery pod/videocast: http://yayquery.com Those guys are funny, too.
We don’t have them into iTunes yet, but we release two interviews with self-employed folks (freelancers and those starting business with employees) per week at Life Of The Freelancer: http://lifeofthefreelancer.com. iTunes is coming soon!
bah.. poor substitutes for the Freelance Switch gang!!! *raises fist* …. ok… I’ll give em a listen.
Thanks for the suggestions…we will miss Freelance Switch!
Oh man, I just fired up iTunes and wondered how many new episodes there would be after I took a pretty long break from most podcasts in general, and was sad to see that it said “The Final Episode”. I really enjoyed listening to you guys and it always gave me lots of motivation.
Oh well, I guess you covered a lot of topics during these years, so it remains a good back catalogue, but having a great podcast like this end is a bit like having your favourite show cancelled – you just assumed it would just go on forever, but I guess sometimes people want to move on.
Maybe one day you will feel like doing a little reunion podcast
Oh, and by the way, somehow I can´t download ep. 1, 3 and 11 from iTunes, and ep2 doesn´t even show up on the list. Can anybody help?
Anyways, thanks for all the great episodes and I will listen to the last two episodes with a little tear in my eye
I really got used to hearing your voices, and the humor in your podcasts!
Cheers,
Frederik.
Thanks for all the great shows. It was a pleasure to listen to your podcast. A pitty that it ended way to soon.
Thanks also to the mysterious Dickie Adams who in one episode suggested a subscription for the magazine INC. I am now a reader of it and a renewed subscriber of the magazine. A great read!
Also thanks to Von who came with quite some good suggestions.
Thanks also goes to Kristen for good advice on copy writing, and to John for being an excellent host.
Good luck in the future what ever you guys may be doing.
Trond
