Because commuting to a freelancer means moving from your bedroom to your study

You won’t need to ever pull your over-the-phone sickness routine again

Yea I totally agree it’s brilliant when you have work in! But days like i have been having recently where there is no work, nor sign or work on the horizon, makes me think that a job with a regular wage has it’s benefits! Any suggestions on getting work in for a new business on a stamped address envelope!

I totally agree with this article (where i’m gonna head to).
But… I have to say that there are something I’ve learnt working in the industry (web), that I don’t think I could of learnt freelancing. Hence why I think its important to work in the corporate environment for a while to get some basic knowledge of how a business is run and what clients expect from you…

There are almost infinite reasons to be a freelancer…I’m typing this under the shade of our patio umbrella in the garden, over a wireless connection to my home office, listening to a few tunes at the same time. I’ve just put the finishing touches to tomorrow’s blog entry, a half decent pinot grigio is on chill in the fridge, and I just sent in a half decent invoice too. I don’t want to sound smug, but I recommend being your own boss to anyone who’ll listen and certainly casual Friday is always underpants day!

No seriously, all these reasons are valid, and they’re all the reasons why I quit my job. My reason #11 was that my company did stuff I didn’t want to approve of. I wanted to make my own company politics.

Number 14. Because paying your bills is highly over-rated.
Number 15. You get to experience the pleasure of double taxation. First you get it the rear with Self Employment Tax, and then you get it in the face with income tax. Thank you ma’am, may I have another?
Number 16. You don’t mind having to answer your spouse’s question, “…and when, pray tell, are you getting paid?”

I have to disagree with reason # 8. You have huge creative control as an employee. Granted, it’s not going to be in your job description and you will probably have to hide, but you can do things like these.

I agree!! I went freelance engineering nearly 1 year ago - its liberating!! Having complete control over your work and your destiny sounds daunting at first but is really fantastic when you get in to it

6 months back I quit my so called earning job and I am FREElancer NOW!!!
Now I am earning 4 times by salary, I am also an example for those who want to quit jobs!
I am into vector animations, print resolution images and website designing stuff….

Hello all….. i am also fed up of my boss and his stupid ideas about my designing stuff…. he really makes me angry with his design thoughts which are really stupid… but boss is boss
am looking for freelance projects but couldnt get one till now… but i am hopefull
