Last Chance to Get the Survey Results for $3
Collis Ta'eedAs most of you know a couple of weeks ago we released the survey results and judging by the feedback, they were worth seeing, here are a couple of user comments:
Amazing, beautiful report… And some of the analysis in the end confirms my thoughts on marketing and money. The whole thing is a wealth of knowledge that will help to guide my business and personal decisions for some time to come, I’m sure! Thanks so much! - no.e
Awesome. Now I can see what it feels like being a freelancer in terms of figures and graphs. Phyo Wai
The results were sent out for free to all participants (even the ones who didn’t get right to the end of the survey!) and they’ve been available since for a ‘donation’ of at least $3. I’m writing today to let you know that in about a week I’m moving the survey off to the new Rockstar website we’ve been developing, and when that happens, we’ll be changing the price to something high (I’d guess around $25). The reason being that most of our community should have grabbed it by then, and anyone else who comes along can pay a premium
So anyhow before moving it, I wanted to make sure anyone here on FreelanceSwitch who wants it, has had a chance to grab it for $3!

You can grab the report using the ejunkie button below, it’ll ask for a donation, you can edit the number down to the minimum $3, or feel free to give us more
Why the charge? Close to 300 manhours of work went into hosting, compiling, analysing and reporting the survey. While it has been distributed freely to anyone who chose to participate, we are charging for the results to help pay for the rather large expense of putting it together. We thank you for your understanding.

I got around to donating and have received my receipt from PayPal. When/how should I expect the report to be delivered?

Hey Damien, it should be automatic actually
Can you send a ticket to http://eden.helpserve.com stating the receipt number and your email address and I’ll send it over, sorry about that

Actually, I just got it, though it didn’t seem to make it past my spam filter. Down, google, down!

Ah thanks! I didn’t know it was still available on a donation-based system. I’ll chip in a bit extra for all your hard work

Just purchased the report. Do you have any plans of setting up an affiliate program?
Collis
March 6th, 2008
Hey Michael! We sure do, I’m going to set it up so that you can become a Rockstar affiliate and sell any product. Should have it up when we launch the site “next week” (which may wind up being slightly later
)

I just bought the survey. But how come it cost 9 dollars instead of 3?

I just downloaded the report and was very shocked to see only 4.4% of the respondents fell into my age category (I’m 38). Good information, I can’t wait to review and analyze the rest of this report!

Hey guys, just to clarify as I mention in the post, you can revise the price to any amount, the lowest of which being $3. I put a default value of 9 because I am sneaky and figured it might “help” people donate a little more
@Drake: Sorry if your comment was deleted, we generally only delete things in error or if they are quite offensive.
@Ranjeet, if you did, send a ticket to http://eden.helpserve.com and I’ll get you sorted, be sure to include the email address you used to fill out the survey so I can check it against our records

That’s pretty crappy, Collis. I thought the price was $9, so that’s what I paid. I don’t have a problem with paying $9, but don’t hide an extra charge in there just to trick people into paying more. Make the price $3 and ask people to give more if they feel inclined to do so.

The “Continue shopping” button closes the window, and that’s all. Impossible to go further.

I filled out the survey too. Was there an email sent out to all participants? I missed it.

I have been assinged an article on the top 5 freelancing gigs and am wondering if there is a way to receive a copy of this report. I would like to reference it in this article.
Thank you,
Gina
