Inspiration Gallery - FaveUp
Cyan Ta'eed
A little off topic, but the team over here as just put up an inspiration gallery called Faveup which showcases great logo, business card, flash and css design. It’s only just gone up and I’ve filled it with some content to get started, but over the coming months it’ll slowly pad out to be a really neat site I think.
So head over, bookmark it, subscribe to it, and if you have anything really spectactular to add, then by all means do so!
Oh and if any of you are Diggers and like the site, please feel free to head on over to Digg and give this story a bump

Wow! Hot idea and hot design! I know this isn’t the first site of this kind, but seems like a natural next step for FS. Congrats on the launch! *bookmarked*

Wow, this is really great. You don’t usually get a gallery aggregating logos, business cards AND websites, well done, I like it!

Even before I read anything i knew it was one of the Eden family
It’s totally your style.
Anyway, great website.

I love the super clean lay-out on the site. I also feel the name you chose is very powerfull, easy to remember and just sticks in your head.
On the downside I must inform you that the site breaks horribly in IE6, which is always a shame. Nonetheless, if you keep the content coming I’ll be a regular for sure:-)

I have seen ALL the designs featured on faveup elsewhere on other sites, why is yours so different? How is it unique???

@Youri: Ah yes that’s my fault, I’ve given up testing on IE6, actually I think FreelanceSwitch breaks in IE6 too. I’m hoping that if i ignore it, maybe everyone will switch to Firefox/IE7
@Simon: I didn’t think there were any other galleries of logos/cards and websites all together, but if there are let me know!! I’m actually putting together another post about design inspiration sites, so I could use all the links I can get. So far I’ve only found sites that do one thing, and not really any that do business cards (except this one gallery from “dailypoetics” but it isn’t quite the same sort if you know what i mean)
As for the designs not being unique, actually there are at least 10 designs on there that have never left my machine before, nonetheless the gallery will become more unique over time
Anyways Thanks Guys for all the support! It’s early days, but I’m sure that the site will grow into a very useful little source of inspiration!

@Collis :
Yes sometimes it’s a ridiculous challenge, I know(into web myself). Freelance switch doesn’t seem to break though, at least I never noticed it;)

looks great - I bet it will grow quickly. I like the uncluttered look… so many “similar” sites have way too much going on, but this one lets you focus on the samples much better. Why is anyone still using IE when Safari/Firefox/etc are so much better at displaying sites (particularly “web 2.0 sites” & css) properly?

Awesome site, nicely designed. Easy to see the content

Actually Safari for windows is extremely flawed. The reason people use Ie is because it simply comes standard with windows. So untill Microsoft stops doing that(which is probably never) designers will have to deal with this…

Wow, so instead of figuring out how to work with the other sites that you have seen out there that do similar stuff, you have decided to, in some cases, create unnecessary competition.
You also took it a step further ( at least with the logos ) to use the exact same pixel dimensions as logopond, to make it easier for those users to also post on this site? I would have gladly sat down with you all to figure out a way to not only cross promote but feed the cream of the crop that has not made it to the logopond gallery to you so that content could then be more original.
Instead, now we will no doubt be copies of each other as 90% of the logos that are on there are now (having been previously uploaded or featured on logopond). But I guess that’s just how it goes, I have a lot to learn in this website game I guess.
