Thanks guys!! It was a *LOT* more work than either of us realised. I actually thought I could write it all in just a few weeks … yeah right!
I was happy the copyright stuff wasn’t too hard in the end, thank goodness for express international couriers!
Anyhow happy to be back, though a bit exhausted from holidaying
@Haris: I’ll get the Lulu version up asap! Actually I’ve gotten a test copy and it looks pretty good, so just have to make a few adjustments for print.

Congrats to getting it done in time for the holidays! I’ll be waiting for the lulu version. I spend too much time in front of the computer and I’d rather read it in the comfort of my rocking chair! Yeah… I could print all 212 pages… But I don’t have a stapler big enough…

“You can see the full contents of the book here on the site.”
Just to clarify, by ‘full contents’ you mean the table of contents. I got excited and thought that I could read the book for free online.

Can’t believe I don’t get a proper TOC with links etc for a e-book I pay for. I’m looking forward to reading the book though, from what I’ve seen on this site so far it must be great and its perfect timing for me. Thanks for the hard work.

Hey guys, thanks for the positive feedback, really cool to come back from holidays to our awesome community. A couple of questions people asked:
(1) Size of PDF - 1.6mb
(2) Lulu Printed Book Price will be $35 (i.e. $29 + $6 for Lulu’s printing cost)
(3) Unfortunately the $10 discount won’t apply to the Lulu version simply because I don’t think they have a promo code facility like eJunkie does … Sorry about that!
Anyhow thanks again for all the positive comments, and now I’ve got to go write a new FSw article as I think we’ve run out of scheduled posts, yikes!
Chris

Any chance that us readers who are eligible for discount will also get a discount on the upcoming print version? Also, are you offering any free sample chapters before buying? Would love to read a portion and see if this book is for me instead of gambling on luck.
Haris

No discount on Lulu version?
I’ll still buy.

Looks great so far, excellent work guys; a few spelling errors here and there (plus a repeated paragraph early on) but to be honest, those sort of things crop up in a lot of releases from even well established publishing houses.
I was really hoping for the level of advice and insight given on the blog to bleed over into the book, and in that regard it certainly delivers. A few sections seem to either be directly copies from past blog posts, or slightly modified versions, but if it ain’t broke…
I also really liked the ‘Rock Quotes’ snippets, which pointed me in the direction of both sites which were completely new to me, as well as articles which were otherwise buried in some of the more popular sites.
Overall, i’m extremely pleased with my purchase, you guys have done a great job, and although i’ve already paid for the pdf version, i’ll most likely be grabbing the hard-copy when its released to.
Huge thumbs up from a satisfied reader!

Hey Mike! Thats fantastic to hear!
I think we could do with a second round edit, I must confess to not realising how much work goes into a book
Will have to get a revised version up for redownload in January.
In any case, as the very first bit of feedback, I must admit thats really great to hear

Nice to see a book just about freelancing - it appears to fill a niche that has been overlooked. I am surprised that no one has commented on the price…$29 for a PDF feels high compared to even a hardcover Amazon.com purchase. I’ve worked with a couple self-publishers, and I can appreciate the pricing dilemma. Also I’m not questioning the value, but the perception feels high. And thought it curious no one else has questioned it.
Like any analysis of pricing an produced object, the volume of sales vs. the profit per unit sale is always a point of contention. Leo at zenhabits.org just published his ZTD ebook for $10 and received over two thousand orders. I hope you’re able to come close to duplicating Leo’s success.
