Coming Soon – Rockstarbooks Website + More Books
We’re working hard on a Rockstarbooks website and more books, so look out for more announcements soon!

This is brilliant for ideas. I went through lulu they are great for publishing. I will save up for a copy.
uh… according to lulu.com, it costs about $8 to make one of these books. Even with great content, that price is a bit steep, fellas. Good site, though.
Awesome! I have the e-book, may get the paper book as well!
Just ordered the e-book a couple days ago and it is awesome. Everyone should get it that is interested in taking the leap to freelancing.
MC: Lulu takes a 20% commission on each sale on top of the production cost… I got the ebook and it’s well researched and comprehensive, and must have taken a lot of time to write. The price is justified.
A question for Collis – how is the paperback quality from Lulu’s? Good paper and cover quality? Does it look and feel like offset or is everything more … shiny ?
Hey Collis,
Great Read!! Purchased the PDF Version….
One Question, Would love to have the Paperback for Reference, any chance of a small discount if you purchased the PDF Version?
Ps… Great Gestures lead to great sales
Thanks
Yes, finally! Placed my order immediately!
I’ve read lots of good commentary on the book; can’t wait to check it out!
Thank you! I prefer reading off of paper and not a screen, so having the paperback book will be perfect. I’ve been waiting for it ever since you announced it!
Where is my $10 off coupon? I signed up to be notified.
Have had this book on list of things to purchase for a few weeks now – this paperback version finally gave me a great excuse to stop procrastinating (and coincidentally, the small amount of money hiding in my PayPal account gave me another reason – no credit card use!).
How many pages is it?
I checked the lulu site and the little preview, and noticed the big font type, lots of white space …
Just wondering …
Ah, yes! My eyes thank you for publishing a print version. Very excited to see so much great content compacted into one book.
Was going to get the PDF version this week anyways but I would rather shell out the extra few bucks and get a physical copy. It’s perfect timing for us as we are making the switch to almost full time free lancers in the social media world and it is very exciting times.
Looking forward to getting the book from Lulu. How is the quality form Lulu? We have thought about using them as well for book publishing. Guess I’ll find out first hand in a few.
Congrats again!
Good question David, I bought my pdf couple days ago too. And discount for paper back version will be cool
Hey guys! Lulu quality isn’t too bad, it’s not the same level of quality as something in a bookstore, but it’s not too far off. I’m interested to try out the full colour prints, but of course those are like $50 p/book.
@David: A few people of asked me this, I like the idea, but I don’t actually know how to do it. I need to find a way to make a discount in lulu, but there doesn’t seem to be one
I’ll look through their system some more!
RIPOFF!!
30.00 for a PDF ! you ‘ve got to be jokin–
@Collis: A suggestion is i’m sure you have the email address of people who purchased the PDF from Paypal (for Verfication)? Maybe send them a link to a dicounted version of the book on Lulu.
Or Even a Discount Coupon for your next book? I checked Lulu and also could not see any way of adding coupons
Another question: Would be interested to know why you chose to self publish vs. getting a deal with a big editor. The book is good enough so I guess it’s not because nobody wanted to publish it! Will it still get distributed to bookshops around the world?
When can it probably hit the international bookstores? I can’t wait for that day – the day that rockstar books can be bought in the local bookstores of the Phillipines!
Purchased the paperback version, as promised!
I have already bought the PDF so I won’t be buying the paperback. I find it quite ironic that some of you are bad mouthing the cost because if you were a regular reader you would know the hidden costs involved in writing or any freelance job. Oh and this is a great book that took a lot of hard work and time. Thanks again.
Hi Collis, I can’t wait to get a copy. I am so anxious that I want to buy the PDF immediately, but I am a paperback kind of guy and I don’t really have the bucks for both. Do you have plans to make the paperback available to any major bookstores (Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, etc)?
I’ve just purchased the paperback version over at Lulu. Can’t wait for it to arrive (not sure when though – I’m based in the UK) and get some good information.
Thanks for writing it.
I ordered it on Jan 21st and I just got it (I’m from Argentina), I can’t wait to read it!
i have just know about this book from this posting. and i was in need of this for a long time. but i got it here. and i will order this soon. thanks for sharing this with us..
