Thanks for the post! I can’t wait until tomorrow, it’s going to be really great. We expect a really big showing, the Houston Chronicle will be there to cover the event, we’ve got breakfast from Coffeegroundz, lunch from Angelos Pizza, and some brew on hand from Saint Arnold. I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Houston, are you ready?!?!? Freelance camp is less than 24 hours away and we are more than excited to see the crowd come out for yet another successful day for the Freelancers! I had the amazing experience of attending my very first Freelance Camp in San Antonio, thanks to the efforts put on by Luis Sandoval and his sponsors and crews. That one experience is what sprung tomorrow’s camp – Houston deserves a camp, right?!?!?

So, come one, come all … let’s have some good sessions, which I am confident will be accomplished, and let’s all learn from each other in how to be better freelancers and success!

    YeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Bah, wish I’d known about this sooner.

Do you have any good recommendations to keep an eye on freelancing or design related events? I can track all the (expensive!) conventions and the like, but looking for somewhere I can find information on some of the smaller or more local events.

  4. PGshane

    Hi Robin,

You can hit http://www.freelancecamp.org and http://www.barcamp.org for a list of these events. I often find goldmines on http://upcoming.yahoo.com/ and facebook.

This is a bit last notice on FSW. The next freelance camps events are:

    Indianapolis: TBD (tentative june 5)
    Miami: June 6
    Santa Cruz: August 15

Thanks for posting this info. I have been reading freelanceswitch’s blog posts from last one year and it has benefited me. Some links you posted in this blog are really helpful.

Regarding this event – “I WILL MISS THIS FREELANCECAMP” as I’m from India. We really miss this type of events here in India.

It would be great to see one of these happen in Australia.

    Atul and Robin,

I have a goal to see Freelance Camp go global this year. Why don’t you set up a camp near you? That is what I did. It is a phenominal way to build your own reputation, get involved with the local community and even drive work.

Heck, if anyone is interested in running a freelance camp – just head over to http://www.shaneandpeter.com to get my contact info and lets talk about it. If I think you are serious and will really pull it off, I’ll coach you through it.
