    Why? I already use FreshBooks but adding a year sure couldn’t hurt to save the cash. I met some of the Freshbooks team at SXSW and they were very friendly and genuine and almost amazed that I was so excited about FB…

    Anyways welcome to twitter, thanks for the blog, and thx for the contest!

  2. @An1ken – http://www.twitter.com/An1ken

    Freshbooks would definitely benefit me working with my Invoicing and finances. Finances is a big thing to keep control of if, you don’t have a accountant working for you. Having a minor slip up could easily lose you a few grand with the tax collectors etc.

    Freshbooks is a new way of keeping your finances under control. Its a definite must have, I think.

    Thanks for the opportunity guys

    I’ve been using Quickbooks (mac) for several years. It seems like such a pain to use. The FreshBooks interface is so much better and I can integrate it with my own branding, which is important to me as a designer. Plus the fact that I can accept online payments, send recurring payments, and set up automatic payment reminders is pretty cool.

    Thanks :-)

  11. PGBolo

    I use FreshBook because is simple, nice and fast and i hate QuickBooks.

    Following you already! :)

    Freshbooks would benefit me to help me realise how I’m doing with my first year of freelancing. I do have an accountant who helps me at the end of the year with the taxes, but he won’t tell me what category of clients I had the most, from what category clients I earned the most, if I spend more time illustrating or animating or tell me what category of expenses is the highest. I also think my accountant would be happy if I had a nice system for it, would be easier for both of us.

  13. PGAndrew Turner

    @andrewturner – http://twitter.com/andrewturner

    I’ve been handling a lot of project notes, invoicing, etc via plain paper from my printer hopper, which is a little old style. I would love to get up to date and start organizing invoicing, project notes, payments with a easy interface and one that is web based which would help so much, as i don’t always have my own computer with me, so there that means i can do my invoicing with me anywhere, at anytime, that’s just a few of the ways Freshbooks can help me out.

    Personal Branding is something that I’m actually just starting to do when it comes to Invoicing, and Quotes – I’m including my logo, and further contact details as well, so with Fresh Books it’d help also a lot by re-enforcing my personal brand.

    Time Tracking is another area in which I’m not that up to date either, I’ve been watching the clock and writing down start times and end times in my books, which i will say isn’t accurate but that’s another way that FreshBooks would be my best friend.

    In a Nutshell, the subscription to the Freshbooks service is one that would greatly improve my freelancing business, but my personal skills and organization.

    Thanks FreelanceSwitch for the opportunity to try and win it too!

    I actually am using Freshbooks (the free account), to do some invoicing for my Computer Service freelancing business at http://sysable.com, and have been meaning to upgrade to one of the paid account as the business is expanding. Moreover, I also just formed a company which I was planning to use for Web Development freelancing gig.
    It would be great if I could get this free subscription plan from you, it would help me take off with less (financial) burden.

  36. PGJulian Hill

    @julian_hill

    Time tracking and invoicing is one of the more difficult tasks in freelance work. I tend to multi-task so I’m constantly switching between projects which makes it really hard to accurately track time, bill clients and produce estimates in the future. A subscription to Freshbooks would seriously help me be more disciplined in tracking my time and billing for it appropriately.

  37. PGSteve Robillard

    @srpsco it sure would beat the excel spreadsheets and word documents I am currently using.

    Freshbook is a great way to track projects and I’ve been using it for a while. However, with the start of my new business, and a few new clients, I’ve outgrown the free version! I want to keep things as professional as possible going forward and Freshbooks is a great way to help that happen.

Also to have the power of Freshbooks, would really kill some serious headaches and let me worry about whats important… the client.

    Keep up the great work.

  48. PGCherie

    @foamydrupal More smaller clients than before equals a need for a new system for invoicing. The 5 year old version of Quicken and some Word invoices isn’t working as well as it used to.

  49. PGNathan Bailey

    @dnbailey

    I’m going to start freelancing full time this year, and free freshbooks would be awesome! I don’t think I can afford anything but the free plan, and that means I’ll be limited to 3 clients. No bueno!

  50. PGTaB

    I gladly followed. I’m @takeabyte on twitter: http://twitter.com/takeabyte

    As much as I hate to admit it, QuickBooks stymies me to the point where I’ve developed an aversion to using it. This means losing track of hours, which results in undercharging. And who gets cheated there? Not the client.

    Freshbooks, on the other hand, looks very inviting and easy to use. The payment methods, the branding opportunities, everything very streamlined and attractive. Anything that would get me out of “management mode” and back into “freelancing/what I do best mode” would be more than welcome.

    Hi There

    In my small town in Manitoba Canada the web and graphic design industry is controlled by two gaients. I am doing everything I can to win a few small battles but as a young father and husband it is very hard to get things going around here. I know that if I would be able to get some online work and boost my work load as well as income, I would be able to do a better job supporting my family. As well as putting food on the table it has been my dream to own my own company, and I know that having this subsription would help me accive this dream.

  58. PGPaul Cook

    @av_paul

    Saving money by getting a Freshbooks subscription from FreelanceSwitch makes good business sense. With only two clients currently, it would be nice to be able to continue adding clients without adding costs.

    One of our big goals for this year is to keep up to date with our accounting and time tracking since getting behind is easy, and has caused us problems in the past. We’ve been using Quicken, a 1995 time tracking program, whiteboards, and lots of pen and paper.

    I love Freelance Switch! I’m a different type of freelancer since most of my time is hourly work onsite with clients, but it’s been steady work ever since leaving the cube to go out on my own a year and a half ago. I still find a lot of value in the info posted on FS though.

    And Freshbooks is fantastic! I’ve been using the “free” version because I’ve had repeating contracts with the same few clients since going solo. New ventures on the horizon should bring me more clients though, and I’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan. A free year would be most excellent!

  69. PGMary Yeager

    @aithne_darkyce http://www.twitter.com/aithne_darkyce
    Been following you guys since I there wasn’t an official feed!

    Having been trying out FreshBooks for about a month now, I’ve been able to see just how very productive this system has made me. I went from working few hours a day (using notepad to keep track of time by time start and time end) to loads more hours. That was the biggest seller for me is the time tracking that FreshBooks has built in!

    I am currently working to launch my freelance career and I know that FreshBooks will definitely be THE way to go. Its simple and easy interface is easy to use and I can brand it to fit my unique style. People will know its me!

    In the past, while working for various online businesses and working in sales sometimes, I’ve used a variety of programs for invoicing and the like (like QuickBooks and Netsuite). FreshBooks WIPES these out of the water! I guess I’m what you might call now a FreshBook Junkie?

  70. PGLiz

    Freshbooks sounds like a great service and as of now, I’m using a spreadsheet solution to manage my finances and relying on my memory to send out invoices, something more automated could probably save me some time! :)

    I’ve been using Freshbooks for just over a year — It’s completely changed the way I handle invoicing, billing, tracking, everything. I don’t have a huge client base, but I did have enough — and enough different payment arrangements — that keeping track of who owed what when was a bit of a chore. Freshbooks let me retire my steno pad invoice log completely and I haven’t lost track of a payment since!

    I first started using freshbook in October of 2008. There was I client that I had in November that would not pay me even after I sent him notice after notice. But finally I confronted him in person and was about to take him to court with all of the warnings, proof of emailed and snail mail invoice . . . even though it took me roughly 3-4months I eventually got my money, thanks to freshbook.

    I have been freelancing as an actor, teaching artist, writer also working in web design and internet marketing. I have taken on minimal work as I am finishing up my Masters in Educational Theater at NYU. I am starting to advertise, network and market to potential clients. I am starting to get more work and it would be helpful to get a free subscription so that I can save that money to start paying my loans!

  99. @WhenIGroUpCoach

    I’m doing with my life coaching classes & am revving up my business – but my finances are in a Google Doc spreadsheet! Seems like FreshBooks would really help me get my finances in order like a grown up (which would be good, since I’m the When I Grow Up Coach).

    I’d love a FreshBooks subscription. Billing my clients is such a hassle that I usually end up putting it off and the lost time costs me real dollars.

    @frosteeice

    I’ve been using the freshbooks trial but it only limits you to 1 client. It’d be great to have more expanded capabilities as i <3 freashbooks!

    I just started a business in the March. I would love to have a freshbooks subscription to manage my invoices and pay allow my clients to pay invoices online. I think freshbooks would be a benefit not to me but my clients. I truly want my clients to have the most transparent experience I can provide and with freshbooks I feel I am a few steps closer to making that possible.

    FreshBooks looks sweet. If I had that I could stop using multiple resources and have everything in a single place.

    I work in a really small company and sometimes have problems invoicing and tracking time, I believe this is a great opportunity to use Freshbooks and get everything back on track.

    I’d love to win a FreshBooks subscription. I currently work 463 hours per week… I have no idea who I’m working for because I cannot track my time… therefore I cannot invoice. How am I suppose to buy FreshBooks if there’s no money coming in?! Please help me. Please.

    Freshbooks is simply the best online freelance accounting package I’ve used. We use it on a daily basis and would recommend it to anyone needing easy billing for their freelance service. The one feature that saves me hours every week is invoices are automatically generated, mailed via US Postal Service, and they even include a handy return envelope and perforated payment stub for the client. This feature alone makes Freshbooks well worth it.

    @ardhiansatrya

    I’m just started using Freshbooks, using the free subscription now. With the excellent features, easy to use, helped me dealing with my estimates and invoice…it’s a very solid online service! I would be glad if I can get a subscription. Thanks!

    Been a huge fan of @FreelanceSw – keep up the great tweets.
    I have found Freshbooks to be one of my most important tools as a freelancer, keeps me organised so I can focus on doing what i enjoy, designing. A free subscription would be a godsend as times are a little tough and would allow me to invest the money I save to fund other ventures that I have lingering currently.

    I’m a freelance graphic designer, definitely doing my best to keep costs low at the moment, since I’m a starving grad student to boot, and just picked up several clients and was already considering investing in a subscription to Freshbooks, since the basic level of service wasn’t going to cut it for me any more.

    This would help tremendously!

  111. PGKyle Wiebalk

    I’ve been following you guys on Twitter for awhile now–my name is @kwwphoto

    I would love a copy of Freshbooks to help keep a lot of my smaller freelance assignments taken since the recession hit in better order. I now have full-time marketing job, part-time startup video production studio, and lots of small miscellaneous photo shoots and design freelance jobs going as well to survive the recession in LA where living expenses are high. Keeping my finances straight lets me focus on what keeps me going: enjoying my creativity.

    I own fixmyPCnow.com and am looking to use the FB API with our billing/checkout procedure. Manually entering information into Quickbooks is a pain. We’ve used it a few times and think it’s a worthwhile investment.

    Sign me up.

    At the moment, I’m in manual invoicing hell – not enough time to do it, not enough time to switch to a different service – that is unless I get the incentive!

    Good luck to everyone entering!

    I just started using Freshbooks and love it!

  115. PGMichael Carnell

    Why do I need them? Because I could use all the help I can get! Seriously, the subscription would be extremely helpful.

    Good luck all!

    I keep my books in do-it-myself spreadsheets and create invoices in InDesign. A free subscription to Freshbooks might be just what I need to start doing things right!

  117. PGAmy Buck

    @amy_buck

    I’m currently looking to purchase or subscribe to an invoicing system, preferably one that’s in the cloud. I have heard a lot of good things about FreshBooks and would definitely benefit from receiving a FreshBooks subscription. I’m starting my own business and need to invoice clients RIGHT NOW!

  118. PGMattThinks

    @MattThinks

    In just a few months my Fiancée and I will be moving overseas to start pursuing our life goals, but we only have enough savings for 6 months of living. We will be freelancing and having Freshbooks to manage our billing, time tracking, expenses and more, may just leave us with the extra time we need to get enough work and not have to return home having failed. If money was no object I would have subscribed already!

  119. PGCynthia

    I love freshbooks. A year subscription would really be awesome because I am adding more clients now, so I have to pay more for more clients.:) It is an awesome program that has saved me so much time, and since accounting/invoicing isn’t really my thing, it takes so much work out of it for me.

  125. PGjessiegirl

    @jessiegirl
