Envato 2-Punch Combo in Motion Graphics – VideoHive & AETUTS Launched

It may be just two weeks away from the end of 2008, but we haven’t stopped working here at Envato HQ, in fact we have just launched a double header of motion related websites:
- VideoHive – A Marketplace for Motion Graphics, Footage and Project Files for After Effects, Motion & DVD Menus
This is our fourth Envato Marketplace, joining FlashDen, AudioJungle and ThemeForest. We’ve pulled over some 700 odd motion graphics files that were sitting under FlashDen, added an improved video player, new categories, a dedicated motion community blog and forums and packaged it up as the Hive! Right now the site is just getting started with the new sections added, but we know it’s going to be big! - AETUTS – Tutorials on After Effects and other Motion Graphics Packages
After a long pause in between TUTS releases, we’ve now consolidated the sites with a TUTS manager (former FSw editor Skellie!), a strong editorial lineup and enough income to start expanding again. So just last night Skellie and new editor Lloyd Alvarez launched AETUTS – specializing in After Effects tutorials, motion graphics related articles and plenty more!
So if motion is your middle name, be sure to pay a visit and help us get video cranking at Envato!
FreelanceSwitch Updates
Recently we’ve had a few bits of downtime here at FSw, my apologies for the issues. After some hunting we worked out it wasn’t the blog that was the problem, but the forums which were dragging down the site. We’ve upgraded and scaled back plugins temporarily while we try to track down the problem permanently. Thanks to forum manager Casey for valiantly chasing us down to get the problem fixed!
Actually the whole of FreelanceSwitch is long overdue for upgrades, and as some of you may remember I took a whole heap of suggestions a couple of months ago, and we have been slowly working away on a new, improved FSw. We have a new design, and extensive feature list. Mathias Meyer who built the job board is coming back to work on the site from January onwards to help me build v3.
In the meantime, enjoy the holiday season, we have NC Winters crafting some very special editions of both Freelance Freedom and Creative License to celebrate which should be pretty cool!

2-Punch Combo! Always works as a headline.
You guys were behind Flashden? I had no idea haha.
As a freelance filmmaker, I’m definitely bookmarking AE TUTS! Learning a little bit of After Effects was the best thing I ever did for my freelancing career. Doing online tutorials was really all it took to elevate my work to another level. For all you filmmakers, LEARN AFTER EFFECTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Another great resource is videocopilot.net. If you do one video tutorial every week from these two sites, you’ll be doing new amazing things within a month, I guarantee it (now I sound like a paid AE shill huh? I’ll do it for free!)
It’s really no problem Collis… although I think I may start a site called “Where’s Collis?” mimicked after the “Where’s Waldo” books
Sometimes trying to get a hold of you is like looking for Waldo!
Hopefully the log-in issues with the forums will be resolved soon!
I’d love so see a flash equivalent of AEtuts
I guess FLATUTS also in the queue… isn’t it ??
@Chris Yi I completely agree about After Effects tremendously helping my freelance video…and Video Copilot is one of the best resources out there for motion graphics. I’m especially looking forward to AETUTS now too!
