I'm so ready for this series to be over. The writing is fine but nothing I haven't seen in other places. Definitely not the type of content that got me interested in this blog in first place. Just my 2 cents...

Trust and reputation do not come out of nowhere. I would say there are different types of trust:
a) Trust "advance", which is just given to you because your counterpart has in general a positive attitude towards other people

b) Trust based on relationships: If other people say they trust you, this trust can be transfered so that another porson who does notknow you yet is trusting you because other said you are trustworthy

c) Trust earned personally: By holding your promises, keep your deadlines, delivering quality and act and communicate openly. This is also the source for trust based on relationships: It might take a while to grow, and you need to invest upfront. But it is the most durable and most valuable form of trust.

"Trust is the currency of the 21st century, and your network is your bank."

"I will subscribe to your blog if I trust you when you make the promise of delivering good and unique content to me every day and will provide a better value proposition than the hundreds of bloggers competing with you in your niche."

You're clearly talking about A-listers here. I don't think any of us B-listers really hold any illusions that an ostentatious blogger such as yourself would deign to read what we have to say because the question lingers - what's in it for you?

However, you have made me think quite critically about the blogs that I do subscribe to and I think now is as good a time as any to do some pruning. I think I'll start with this blog. The content has been pretty weak of late.

I trust you'll read my comments and not give a crap. See? I'm growing as a person. Thanks for that.

I like how you've used the trust concept in this context. After all, relationships are in effect "trust transactions." Another trust factor pertaining to social media success - Establish trust with those a-listers by reaching out, commenting on their work, relaying an experience, compliment, whatever - keeping that dialog going to foster a relationship *without* coming out of the gate with expectations or requests. So refreshing.
