FreelanceFolder Releases ‘Unlimited Freelancer’ Book

FreelanceFolder‘s Mason Hipp and Men with Pens‘ James Chartrand have released The Unlimited Freelancer, a 200-page book in PDF format that delves into the business of starting a freelance business, growing it, and maintaining it.
With just the right combination of Hipp’s pragmatism and Chartrand’s shooting-from-the-hip flair, the book makes for an entertaining read—and that’s not to say it isn’t informative, because it most certainly is, and considering the success the authors have had in crafting and growing successful freelance businesses, that’s no surprise at all.
If you’re looking to start your own freelance business, this is a great resource for you. If you’ve built a freelance business already, but find that you’re working for it rather than the business working for you, this is also a great resource. Go and grab your copy at FreelanceFolder. Of course, it’ll look great on your PDF bookshelf next to our own How to be a Rockstar Freelancer.

Congratulations Mason and the FreelanceFolder team!
I bought a Freelance book from sitepoint.

I wondered if this 1 is better, or different?
I think at some point you just have to jump in with 2 feet.
oooooo!
I love MWP, so I’ll probably read it. I feel like this particular book is starting to get overdone though. Hope J does a good job of setting it apart from that pack!
lol, ok the cover certainly helps
Hey Collis and Joel — Thanks for the review! It means a lot coming from the site of the original book on freelancing.
@Darren– I think you’ll find that The Unlimited Freelancer is a bit different from the other freelance books out there. We focused more on strategies for freelancing as a business, and how to set yourself up for growth, as opposed to ‘how to start freelancing’. This book is really a great compliment to Freelance Rockstar and Principles of Successful Freelancing, and covers almost entirely different material. Personally, I recommend all three
Typo up top…
FreelanceFolders.com does not work…
FreelanceFolder.com
Thanks for the info. I may have to buy this book, being a newb freelancer and all
Hey coolness, and thanks for the mention, guys. I’ll back up what Mason said and add that we really put a ton of useful, applicable info for freelancers – even those that are already established and doing well. Everyone can find something that helps them do even better in this one.
@ Allena –
Might have been nice if someone in the post mentioned it cost $29 to save us the double-click from our feed reader and then to the other website. It sounds great though and a possible competitor to SitePoint’s “The Web Design Business Kit”, although smaller and without the forms.
I bought this book and enjoyed reading it. There was a lot of useful information in there and it was different enough from some of the other freelance books — a lot of good tips on outsourcing, developing systems and helping structure your business to be scalable. Some of the things I’ve already been implementing but it’s still helpful to feel like I’m on the right track. Great job!
Just bought it! Time to print it and read it
Looks interesting. Can’t wait to read it. Thanks!
Both of these books sound great… it’s unfortunate that there’s not a print version. I’m only 26 but I find it really difficult to read a book on the computer, especially after working on a computer for 8-10 hours. $30 is a little steep for a PDF.
Are there any plans to actually publish a print version? I would certainly be interested in that.
