A-frickin’-men. I loathe reply to all. Gads.
I get this sometimes but usually its all mainly spam.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who struggles with the “Reply To All” function. MS Outlook keeps placing the recipients in the wrong fields…
I worked for a company that for some reason allowed any employee to send email to “All Users”. A bunch of people started sending out chain letters. I was getting 50-100 emails a day. That was annoying. But what was even MORE annoying was that half of the emails were the people who decided to use “Reply to all” when sending a reply: “DON’T SEND ME THIS!”. I swear, half of the emails were “Don’t send me this…” emails.
Later, they removed the ability for folks to be able to use the “Send to all users” option.
There’s a similar phenomenon known as “spaghetti brain.” It’s when you get dozens of emails from the same person in the span of an hour all regarding the same thing.

Msg 8 @ 11:28 AM: “I think I accidentally deleted something… Can you take a look?”
Msg 9 @ 11:35 AM: “I restored a backup from last month. Looks like all your changes are gone. Can you merge them with what is out there?”
Msg 10 @ 11:42 AM: “Just wanted to make sure you’re getting my emails.” *attaches all previous emails*

No doubt! I don’t know where people learned netiquite from, but the incessant ‘reply to all’ (when un-warranted) is second only to forwarding emails without using BCC. Good timing too, I just got done chewing a friend out for CC’ing me on a political forward that filled my inbox with a flame war =P
Has to be one of the known truths of the powe-user universe. If only there was a “REALL:” that was tagged onto the subject, easy to filter.

Laughing… Yeah… Some of the most unpleasant disputes have come out of that ol’ Reply All, especially when what you thought was only 3 people (seeing only one line of it) turns out to be 50 plus Joey’s grandma. Arrr.
