Freelance Freedom #90

PG

N.C. Winters is always drawing. When he isn't making comics, doodling or working as a freelance graphic artist, he spends his time painting pretty pictures for galleries from his home studio in sunny southern California.

  1. PG Purwa Suajaya

Ooow…you shouldn’t publish this, this should be designer’s secret :D

    Funny post anyway….as usual :)

  2. PG Scott

More shocking, the font was Arial.

    1. PG Nadya

i laugh so much after i read you.
      since 1:10 morning..

    2. PG William

      It IS Arial.

  3. PG Andrew

Scott, you beat me to it.

  4. PG DKumar M.

One of the wisely important designer’s Secret… Nice Catch Winters!!

  5. PG Laurie

    I was thinking Helvetica

  6. PG Prescott Perez-Fox

    Not Helvetica … Helvetica Neue!

  7. PG Kim

    No, it’s definitely Helvetica.

    Or Helvetica Neue Ultra Light?

  8. I was more thinking of Comic Sans?? (joke..)

  9. PG cyan

    That was hilarious! :-D

  10. PG Tri Dang

Anyone tell me what font to use in this case? ;)

  11. PG imani lateef

    LMAO

  12. PG Timothy

When in doubt, turn to Helvetica. It’s a neutral typeface. You can use it for ANYTHING. Arial is worse, by far. Just watch the documentary titled “Helvetica.”

    1. PG nadya

      Documental “Helvetica” is very impressive!

  13. PG Paul Unr

Awesome. Been a longtime follower of this strip,
In fact it’s what kept me coming back here for a long time.

My one suggestion, is start sharpening this thing.
My eyes were watering trying to read the font, it’s far too blurry. :(

  14. PG Japan Nate

    You fools…it’s most obviously…

    …Papyrus.

P.S. – If Freelance Freedom could release a higher res version of these comics, I’d love to print these out and post them in my workspace. Anyone else feel like this would be nice?

  15. PG myows

Great strip NC – always loving your style and sharp observations of the freelancer’s world.

We recently went through this process for our website and created our own unique fond for our logo
    ( visible on http://www.myows.com )

But who needs custom-made fonts anyway when you can just use Century Gothic ?

  16. PG Tamixes

Ahh, but it was the 0.01 em space that made all the diffs.

  17. PG Laurie

yeah I use Century Gothic or Eurostle most of the time

the day I knew that papyrus was over used was the 1st term freshmen year when I passed by a bank sign in that font… I think it was a suntrust bank. I thought that font was only used for fantasy webcomics.

  18. PG yulka

this joke made my day! this is the attitude that every designer should have in order to stay sane.

  19. PG david downing

I was totally thinking Impact :)

And i second the motion to release a higher res version (click the image for a larger pop-up?)

    thanks for the great comics!

  20. PG blue2x

i think it was times new roman hehhe

  21. PG Yanuar

    Funny indeed :D

  22. PG Ahmad Alfy

  23. PG Buzzlair Voufincci
