SwitchTip: Manage Multiple Facebook Pages with Hootsuite
For some reason, there are many people with multiple facebook pages. Sometimes this is for a business or community group, or a special hobby. For example, perhaps you admin a different fan page for each of the characters for Twilight. In this case, it’s imperative that you make sure that you don’t accidently post something on Edwards’s page that should have gone on Jacob’s page, or else you might risk an epic vampire/werewolf battle royale. And who wants that to happen?
One easy way to do this(manage the facebook page, not the battle royale) is with HootSuite. Not only can you manage your multiple twitter accounts (just in case you’re tweeting as Bella and as Edward), but now you can manage your various Facebook pages.
- Sign into your facebook account
- On another tab, sign into your hootsuite account
- On the hootsuite page, click on the owl at the top left of the page.
- Select settings –> social networks
- Select “Add Social Network”
- Choose Facebook Page
- Click on the button “Connect with Facebook”
- Login to use your Facebook account with Hootsuite
- Choose the pages you want to have visible in Hootsuite
- Click “add to Hootsuite”
- Click x on the screens to get back to the main hootsuite page
- You’re done – good work!
Now you can tweet to your different accounts or add content to your Facebook fan page, all from one website. And what’s nice about this is if you’ve registered your hootsuite account, you can use any computer to see all of your accounts without installing anything. Just sign in, and you’re good to go.

I have been using hootsuite now for almost 2 years. Very rarely do I open facebook book or twitter. Highly recommend that program for social media account management…
Someone was just telling me about this last week, I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
For the record, this is helpful because I Tweet as both Meredith and Christina, and it’s hard to keep track of all those McMen.
With a free HootSuite account can I add more than two FB pages? I have my personal one and my FB Group but not able to add my FB fan Page.
Can someone answer this question? I manage 8 different venues, all with different facebook brand pages. Can I manage them all from the free Hootsuite account?
I use HootSuite for Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Very easy to manage!
Sounds like the kind of thing I’ve been looking for. Will check it out – cheers for the tip.
Great post
i will used in my facebook account ..
Good Post
I will have to check this out as it seems very handy!
Wow. This is a great post. I wanna check this out because it seems very useful.
I looked at Hootsuite, but in the end went with Ping.fm. Good decision? I decided on Ping because there was a solid mac desktop application I could use it with, and my twitter separately for things I don’t want posted everywhere, called Nambu.
Haven’t checked out Hoot Suite but I use http://www.Ping.fm. It’s probably a more stripped down simpler version without all the stats, but it works for my needs.
I have been using Hootsuite for a while but now I’m looking for something better. I want to be able to view the Facebook stream that is associated with my Fan Page, so that I can see only the posts that are appropriate to the fan page when I am using that page as my main page. This is easy to do with Twitter (just load the appropriate list) but not with Facebook. In Hootsuite it seems that the only stream option to load is the stream for the Facebook main page, not the fan page. Maybe Tweetdeck?
That’s what I’m trying to do too!
Can you update multiple facebook pages at once with one post? Is that possible? Suppose I have a page (example) about “books” and other with “comics”, and another with “novels”, and I want to update ALL at once with just one post. This possible with HootSuite?
I too need something to be able to manage my fan page, business page and personal page. I use hootsuite, but can only manage my fan page
Thanks! It was so simple! I was having a hard time adding my Business Page instead of an old page that was linked to the e-mail used in Hoot Suite. Good post.
