		<description>Gold Calls.
It's cold calling but doing it with gusto.
Call 70 people a day. Actually talk to 10.
Get 2 interviews. 4 interviews = $1000.00 (give or take)
Step and repeat. Gold calls get results fast.
Overcome the rejection with the joy that you get
having your own business. Start calling at 8 am tomorrow!

<description>Reading a "copywriting manual" isn't the best solution to anyone's problems. If you can write, go for it, but you want to stack up a great service offering – you should enlist the help of a great writer.

I've seen my share of designers with atrocious communication skills. My theory is: if you couldn't do it in high school – don't try to get paid for it.

Check out this article that outlines how I feel about copywriters:

<description>I agree with the programming buddy comment. I've got 2. One writes php and the other asp. It's getting to where you really need to be a one stop shop more than ever. Even if you contract it out.

When it comes to programmers, be careful. There are a lot of programmers out there that say they can do something but take too long or can't really do it. I went through 4 before I found a couple I can trust, and they are both working at a company...not on their own.

Thanks for the article. Found it using google alerts.

<description>I'd be hesitant to offer 24/7 availability. Reason: There are people who will feel free to call you on weekends, just to bash ideas around. Or they may call you just after the crack of dawn so you can help with their computer questions.

Designers are entitled to a life. And I don't think that includes being on-call 24/7.</description>
