PG

N.C. Winters is always drawing. When he isn't making comics, doodling or working as a freelance graphic artist, he spends his time painting pretty pictures for galleries from his home studio in sunny southern California.

  1. PG Corinne

This is why having design geeks like yourself is essential.

    Love it!

  2. PG Joe Casabona

This is so true! My friends rarely have a clue what I’m saying.

  3. PG Prescott Perez-Fox

Most people know what Fonts are, but very few can tolerate when I talk about Kerning Pairs.

  4. PG DKumar M.

LOL, The Designer should always talk to someone on same level for matching their wavelengths….. else everything just flying over the heads Like the example here !!

  5. PG Smash and Peas

Fantasic! I always find myself in this situation but it tends to be me who gets frustrated with the people that don’t understand more often than not!

  6. PG Renee Chung

This is so right! I’ve experienced this before.

  7. PG TODO POR 2 CLICKS!

Gosh! Are we so geek??!!! (yes… we are… ^___^ )

  8. PG Ahmad Alfy

    ROFL
    Happens to me everyday :D

  9. PG Nemesis Design

LOL.. it happens.. sometimes.. but i try to make it happen as rarely as possible.
    I don’t wanna be a boring guy..!

  10. PG Web Major

Thought it was kind of lame…

  11. PG Alex | Blogussion.com

Haha, I guess that’s a downside to freelancing…you can’t really talk to non-web savvy people about it.

  12. PG Banago

It is damn realistic :) I almost never talk those thing with friends – they would understand nothing and start laughing :D

    Nice done!

  13. PG Amie Boothe

I always get the hint when I actually look at the person across the table and see the blank stare or glazed over eyes. I just start laughing as most people think we just push buttons all day to make things happen. My mom is the only one who actually asks questions about what I’m talking about! :-)

Thank goodness for design blogs where we can “talk” about this stuff.

  14. PG Paul Webb

I LOL’d when I saw this in my feed reader.

  15. PG Adam

    nice one

  16. PG Roshan

khe khe khe. felt same way some times :)

  17. PG Jessica

Ha-ha-ha! This is funny! And very true!

  18. PG Dennis

Haha, I feel the same way. I don’t even bother explaining anymore.

  19. PG PicPaths.com

I gave up trying to explain to people, outside the graphics business, what I do. I just tell them I work with designers and that seems to make sense to most.

Of course once you tell someone you work on a computer they start asking a hundred questions on how to fix their home computer. I usually just tell them I only know MACs and that gets me out of most “free” computer repair work.

  20. PG Kevin Crawford

Heh heh, I’ve bitched to my girlfriend so much that she actually understands most of it now :)

  21. PG Timothy

Reminds me of every time I talk to my girlfriend (about coding that is)

  22. PG laurie

considering that I just started on my GD major, i’m just happy that I understand what he was talking about

  23. PG cultofmetatron

wait, how can your os fonts affects css styles? technically you’re restricted a fonts that exist across all browsers and operating systems.

oh wait… did anyone one understand that…

  24. PG Web design adelaide

I can so relate to this, you do the spill about how “work is going” and then you look and see the blankest face imaginable, followed by “yeah thats great”
